Terms of Service

Last updated June 12, 2026

Agreement

These terms apply when you download, install, or use the Onnoir desktop public beta or the Onnoir website. If you do not agree to them, do not use the beta.

Using the beta

Onnoir is public beta software. It is intended for real use, but it may contain bugs, incomplete features, or update issues. Keep verified backups of important work before installing updates.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive license to install and use the Onnoir desktop beta on your own devices. You may not reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the app except where applicable law permits.

Your content

Your notes, media, backups, and exports remain yours. The beta app stores notebook content locally and does not require an Onnoir account. You are responsible for your passphrase, recovery key, backups, and exported files.

Your responsibilities

Use official Onnoir download links, keep your operating system reasonably up to date, and verify backups before relying on them. Do not use Onnoir to violate the law, infringe others' rights, distribute malware, or interfere with Onnoir's website, downloads, update infrastructure, or future services.

Updates and downloads

We may publish updates, checksums, and release metadata through Onnoir download infrastructure. You are responsible for downloading software from official Onnoir links and comparing checksums when they are listed for a release.

Optional future services

Optional online services such as Sync or Publish may be offered later under separate service terms and pricing. Those services will not be required to use the local desktop app. If a future service has different data handling or payment terms, those details will be presented before launch.

Third-party services

Onnoir may rely on third-party providers for hosting, downloads, email delivery, analytics, payments, or support. Those providers are used only to operate the product, website, and related services. Your use of third-party operating systems, cloud drives, backup tools, or app stores is governed by those providers' own terms.

No warranty

Onnoir is provided "as is" during the beta, without warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law. We are not liable for lost data, lost profits, or indirect damages. Always keep your own backups.

Ending access

You may stop using Onnoir at any time. Because the beta stores notebook content locally, deleting the app does not necessarily delete your local vaults, backups, or exports. You are responsible for managing those files on your devices.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product and release process evolve. The current version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
